Solar Together Kent is an innovative scheme offering high-quality solar photovoltaic (PV) panels and battery storage. It is a group-buying scheme, which brings households together to get high-quality solar panels at a competitive price, helping you through the process and keeping you informed at every stage.
Councillor Jayne Sharratt Tunbridge Wells Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Carbon Reduction and Sustainability said: ‘Investing in solar panels can drastically reduce your energy bills so you don''t need to worry when energy prices rise. It''s an inspiring thought that our homes can become mini power stations, giving us the security of energy independence at the same time as doing the right thing to protect our planet by helping to decarbonise the grid.’
Solar PV installations may be considered a ''permitted development'' and will generally not need planning permission. However, in some cases, such as in conservation areas and on listed buildings, planning permission may be required. For planning information please visit our planning and building control page.
You can also register to have battery storage added to your existing solar panels to maximise the benefits of your system.
The council has partnered with iChoosr Ltd, who are independent experts in group-buying, to bring Solar Together to the borough’s homeowners.
This innovative scheme builds on six years of highly successful Solar Together programmes run across the UK. To date Solar Together has delivered over 22,000 installations and over 460,000 tonnes of avoided lifetime carbon emissions.
