In a strategic collaboration for electric bus fleet management, volytica announced a partnership with Enel X to kick off the implementation of the largest electric bus fleet in Latin America.
It will highlight the transformative capabilities provided by Enel X and Volytica’s software solutions. By introducing an advanced battery diagnostic system (BDS) for real-time monitoring, this partnership sets the standard for operational efficiency, sustainability and transparency in the electric transportation sector.
Thus, initiating this large-scale project, prepares for its presentation in Mexico City, evidencing Enel X‘s role in the electrification of urban transport. In February 2023, the city’s transportation authority, Metrobus, laid the groundwork for a more sustainable and efficient future by introducing 51 new buses on Line 3.

“This transformative collaboration with Enel X in which we incorporate our battery diagnostics system is exciting for the entire team. We are proud that the decision to partner with us was motivated by our extensive experience and the seamless integration of battery KPIs into Enel X’s digital dashboard, as well as advanced functionalities such as a notification and alert system,” says Claudius Jehle, CEO and Founder of Volytica.
This partnership will enable the optimization of battery performance, thus improving the operational efficiency of fleets, as well as facilitating the implementation of predictive maintenance measures, potentially extending the life cycle of batteries.
In addition, possible second-life applications will be explored, such as reusing batteries in renewable energy projects or integrating them in grid stabilization systems.
Through the strategic integration of volytica’s battery diagnostic system, the public transport operator can carry out predictive maintenance, proactively avoiding unplanned downtime.
Ultimately, the project will achieve convergence between Enel X’s fleet electrification mission and Volytica’s commitment to ensuring the safety and efficiency of public transport.

Mexico has not played a visibly prominent role in the global rise of EVs so far, but that is about to change. Tesla is building a Gigafactory in Mexico, and that''s just one of many new EV-focused investments in the country, which is turning into a huge assembly plant for EVs.
With China no longer a cheap labour market, Mexico is now eager to make the most of its labour cost advantage, not to mention its rich resources.
