The transport ministry on Friday announced the second phase of a grant subsiding the installation of 1,000 electric vehicle charging points within the framework of Cyprus'' Recovery and Resilience Plan.

Applications will be accepted online at https://ev1000.cea .cy/ from 8am on Tuesday until 12am on May 31, or until the funds are exhausted.

In the second phase of the grants, cumulative restrictions will no longer apply, and the number of stations eligible for subsidy per beneficiary will increase.

Additionally, beneficiaries are given the right to submit multiple applications, which will be considered only in case of available stations. In such cases, the beneficiary can claim up to 40 per cent of the grant, with the subsidy scheme being adjusted accordingly after the application deadline.

Potential beneficiaries include natural persons engaged in economic activities, legal entities, such as companies, associations, institutions, non-governmental organisations, legal entities of public law, and local authorities owning or leasing public se parking spaces.

Eligible installation points include public parking areas, municipal and community parking areas, private parking spaces available for the public, petrol station areas and charging station areas.

Eligible costs relate to the purchase of charging stations, electrical studies, the installation of charging stations, the connection to the electricity supply network, road marking, signage, construction works and auxiliary equipment required for the installation of the station.
